ABOUT JEFF
Jeff Williams, a graduate of Iowa State University, moved to Payette in 1980. Jeff married his wife Linda, a Payette native, in 1982. He soon put his community service career in high gear by coaching youth sports and serving on the Mesa Park Recreational Complex steering committee. He also became an active member of the Payette Lions Club, who elected him President, twice.
Jeff became interested in local government and was appointed to the Payette County Planning and Zoning Commission in 1987 where he served as Chairman for 4 years. He has been an elected officer of the Payette-Washington County Board of REALTORS® since 1999 and is currently a State Director for the Idaho Association of REALTORS®. In 2003 Jeff was the "Realtor of the Year" for the Payette-Washington County Board of Realtors and in 2006 he was presented the "Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award" by the Payette Chamber of Commerce.
Always looking for a new challenge, Jeff ran a successful campaign for Payette City Council in 2003. During his first term he was involved in the Budget/Finance and the Public Works Committees. Using his real estate skills, Jeff negotiated complex land purchases for the betterment of our city. He facilitated in securing new businesses that chose to come to Payette, and enthusiastically encouraged the City to invest in Festival/Tourism events for the enjoyment of Payette citizens and their guests. Jeff has continued to be available for issue/problem solving concerns of Payette Citizens from all walks of life.
In 2007 Jeff was re-elected to the Payette City Council and over the course of both terms, Jeff has attended numerous Association of Idaho Cities and State Agency Conferences where many workshops were held on budgeting, public safety, infrastructure strategies, policy making, livable cities, clean air, water conservation, resolving conflicts and effective communication with the public. Jeff has continued to use this training/experience to guide our City to a prosperous future.
Today Jeff also is a member of the advisory Board for Snake River Transit Bus System, he is the City Council's Liaison for the Payette Public Library and he serves on the newly formed Snake River Economic Development Alliance Board. Jeff Williams has deep, strong roots in community service and involvement and a continuing commitment to the enhancement of our great City.
Jeff is very passionate about the growth, development and future of the City of Payette. At one time Payette was the Hub of the Western End of the Treasure Valley. Payette was leading our Valley in art, culture, education, fashion, philanthropic endeavors and business savvy. Payette still has everything we need, to secure the leading edge with experienced, efficient, effective leadership.
